Around 3:45 am Sunday morning Washington State Patrol troopers initiated a vehicle pursuit on I-5 northbound near Martin Way.
A silver passenger vehicle was failing to yield to Troopers, who were attempting to stop the vehicle for speeding. During the pursuit, the vehicle was at speeds of over 100 mph.
The vehicle exited I-5 at MP 116 Mounts Rd and continued towards the Eagles Pride Golf Course. State had lost the vehicle, but a Thurston County Sheriff’s deputy was able to stay behind it and had the two occupants at gunpoint in the 17900 block of Mounts Rd.
Deputies and WSP Troopers took the driver into custody for eluding a pursuing police vehicle and driving under the influence.
