Man arrested after he sexually assaults mother, attempts to rape dog

A man is in custody after an incident late Wednesday evening where the 43-year-old sexually assaulted his 72-year-old mother and attempted to rape their German Shepherd.

Deputies were dispatched to the residence, in the 11700 block of Langworthy Rd SW, south of Rochester, at 7:42 pm Wednesday. The man’s mother had fled to a neighbor’s house, and the neighbor called 911. Initial reports were that the son was on methamphetamine, and was physical with his mother, attempted to rape her, put a dog chain in her mouth, and threw food on her.

When Deputies arrived, after talking with the victim and developing probable cause to arrest the son for Domestic Violence Assault, they attempted to contact the suspect at the home where the incident occurred. When they arrived at the front door, they could hear high-pitched screams, which sounded like they were coming from “someone who was experiencing a great deal of pain and was in need of immediate assistance”.

The door was locked, so Deputies kicked it in. They found the 42-year-old man attempting to rape a German Shepherd. Originally, deputies thought that the man was being attacked by the dog, so one Deputy discharged his Taser into the dog’s back, which made the dog move away from the man. Deputies then smelled a strong odor of feces, noted the man was naked from the waist down, and had a hold of the dog’s genitals.

Deputies then took the man into custody. He was placed in the WRAP restraint device and a spit hood. He was transported to Centralia Providence Hospital to be medically cleared before being booked into the Thurston County Jail.

It was later determined that there was not probable cause to arrest him for the attempted rape, opting for sexually-motivated assault instead.

He was booked on charges of Unlawful Imprisonment DV, Assault 4th Degree DV with Sexual Motivation, Animal Cruelty in the 1st Degree, and Malicious Mischief 3rd Degree DV.
