LACEY, WA – Detectives from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office are seeking information after a 31-year-old man was hit by a vehicle and critically injured in Lacey early Saturday morning. The vehicle that hit him took off.

The collision occurred around 3:30 am on Saturday, Nov. 5th at the intersection of Martin Way E & Duterrow Rd SE. According to TCSO, witnesses to the collision said the pedestrian was in the crosswalk when a vehicle ran the red light and struck the pedestrian at speeds of 50-60 mph. The vehicle did not stop.

The vehicle, described as a black sedan, continued eastbound on Martin Way and will likely have significant front end damage to the bumper, grill and windshield. The pedestrian was transported to St. Peter’s Hospital with critical injuries.

It’s likely that the driver of the vehicle is a suspect in multiple felony crimes, including vehicular assault and felony hit-and-run. Detectives are asking anyone with information to email detectives@co.thurston.wa.us.
