Tumwater Police and Fire units have closed Capitol Blvd to all traffic as of 6:30 pm on Tuesday night due to a natural gas leak in the area. Capitol Blvd is closed from Cleveland Ave to Carlyon Ave.
The gas leak appeared to be caused by construction in the area, which involved an excavator. The road will be blocked until Puget Sound Energy arrives on scene to shut off the gas and repair the line.
Traffic detours are available via North St and Deschutes Parkway.
