Female suspect reportedly robs Tumwater Safeway with fold-up knife

Tumwater Police responded to the Safeway located at 520 Cleveland Ave SE for a report of an armed robbery around 10:30 pm Wednesday evening.

A female suspect pulled a foldable knife on staff and left the store with merchandise, last seen southbound on Cleveland Ave towards Custer Way.

Thurston County Sheriff’s K9 Arlo and his handler were called in to track the suspect, who Tumwater officers had probable cause to arrest for robbery.

As of 11:00 pm, K9 Arlo was tracking near the railroad tracks west of Capitol Blvd, still attempting to locate the fleeing suspect.

Updated – perimeter was cleared around 11:25 pm. Units are unable to locate the suspect.
