A 31-year-old man showed up at the Washington State Patrol headquarters in Olympia on Tuesday for a job interview, and he walked out the door in handcuffs on his way to jail.
According to the State Patrol, the man was interviewing for a civilian position, not to be a Trooper. During his interview, the man disclosed information that raised concerns of criminal activity. An investigation resulted in his arrest.
Records show that Matthew Cross, 31, was booked into the Thurston County Jail on suspicion of rape of an opposite-sex child in the first degree. Additional details about the case are not available.
