The Washington State Patrol has identified the two people who were killed on Saturday when they were involved in a 4-car collision on SR 510 near Nisqually.

They are identified as Molly R. Rector, 36, of Olympia; and her passenger Samuel P. Davies, 34, of Hoodsport.

The collision occurred just after 4:00 pm Saturday, and involved four cars. One of the other drivers was transported to St. Peter’s Hospital with an unknown extent of injuries. Two others were treated and released at the scene.

The collision was caused when the 2006 Nissan Sentra being driven by the female who died drifted into the right shoulder, over-corrected, and ended up going into oncoming traffic, striking two cars. The fourth car drove through the debris field immediately following the collision and that driver was not injured.

It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the collision.

A 36-year old female from Olympia and her 34-year old male passenger from Hoodsport were killed in a 4-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on SR 510 near Yelm Hwy SE.

WSP Troopers and medics with Lacey Fire responded to the scene just after 4:00 pm. A 36-year old female from Olympia and her 34-year old male passenger from Hoodsport were pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to the State Patrol, a Nissan Sentra was travelling westbound on SR 510 when it drifted to the right shoulder, overcorrected, and entered the eastbound lane, striking two other vehicles. The driver and passenger of the Sentra both died.

The vehicles that were struck were listed as a Chevy Equinox and a Toyota Prius. The driver of the Prius was transported to the hospital. The driver and passenger of the Equinox were treated for injuries at the scene. A fourth vehicle was damaged after driving through the debris field. That driver was not injured.

The names of the deceased have not yet been released, pending notification of next-of-kin.
