WSDOT: I-5 north to remain closed at Maytown through the afternoon

WSDOT says I-5 northbound will be closed at Maytown Rd (MP 95) through the afternoon and possibly into the evening commute.

Fire crews and WSP were dispatched earlier this afternoon to a report of a jackknifed semi which had caused several secondary collisions. Fire originally reported they had eight patients, but only one or two were transported to the hospital and the others were treated on scene, according to scanner traffic.

WSDOT has set up a detour using Maytown Rd, Tilley Rd, and 93rd Ave for travelers to get around the incident. The Department of Ecology is responding for a fuel spill, WSDOT needs to reset the jersey barrier between the directions of the freeway, and multiple vehicles need to be towed from the scene.
