Serious injury collision in Olympia results in vehicular assault, narcotics arrest

A collision yesterday evening in southeast Olympia resulted in one driver being transported to the hospital with serious injuries, and the other driver being arrested for vehicular assault, narcotics possession, and DUI.

Olympia Police and Fire crews were dispatched to the reported collision around 6:30 pm in the 1300 block of North St SE, near Olympia High School. First arriving crews reported that the road was fully blocked and one patient was trapped inside of a vehicle, according to scanner traffic.

Crews with Olympia Fire, assisted by Tumwater’s Medic 5 paramedics, extricated the patient from the vehicle, and they were transported to an area hospital with “serious, but non-life threatening” injuries, Olympia Police said Monday.

The other driver, a 26-year-old male, was arrested by Olympia Police officers on suspicion of felony Vehicular Assault, Possession of Controlled Substance Synthetic, and Driving under the Influence, arrest records show.

North St SE was fully closed for over 4 hours following the accident, as collision investigators were called to the scene, according to scanner traffic.

Olympia Police searching for Dairy Queen robber

Olympia Police are attempting to locate the above pictured suspect, who is wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Dairy Queen restaurant on Lilly Rd SE.

The robbery occurred at 9:30 pm on Monday, Nov. 23. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a Los Angeles Angels #27 (Guerrero) jersey, and has tattoos/marks on the back of his left hand.

The suspect flashed a handgun in his waistband during the robbery.

Tumwater Police searching for 7-Eleven armed robbery suspect

Around 4:45 am Saturday morning, Tumwater Police responded to the 7-Eleven Store located at 1022 Crosby Blvd SW for a report of an armed robbery.A man walked in the store, armed with a silver handgun with a black grip, and robbed the employee at gunpoint.

“The suspect is described as having a light-brown complexion. He wore a facemask, a forest green and black North Face jacket and had a white shirt sleeve pulled over his hand. He wore a Detroit Tigers ball cap with the sticker on the top of the brim, and he had dark colored pants, tennis shoes and he wore a wedding ring”, according to a Facebook post by the Tumwater Police Department.

He was last seen getting into the passenger seat of a black 4-door sedan which got on southbound US 101, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to notify Tumwater Police, through TCOMM-911 dispatch at 360-704-2740, reference case no. 2042.

Deputies arrest drug dealer for homicide after man overdoses, dies

A 50-year-old Lacey woman is behind bars after she allegedly sold fentanyl to a 32-year old man who later overdosed on the drug and died.

Thurston County Sheriff’s deputies responded with medics on October 7th, 2020 to a residence in the 8500 block of Steilacoom Rd SE after it was reported that a 32-year-old man had overdosed on fentanyl.

Medics attempted live-saving measures, but died at the scene, according to a press release from Acting Lieutenant Cameron Simper of the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

On November 25th, Deputies arrested the woman after a “thorough investigation” revealed that she had sold the drugs to the man. She has been identified as Michele L. Hylton, 50, of Lacey, according to jail records. She is being held on a charge of homicide by controlled substance.

Man arrested for attempted murder following November 8th shooting

Thurston County Sheriff’s Office deputies made a 3rd arrest in a shooting case from earlier this month, this time for attempted murder.

On the evening of November 8th, we reported on our Facebook page that Thurston County deputies were investigating a shooting at a residence in a mobile home park in the 7100 blk of Englewood Dr SE.

Deputies had originally responded to the location in an attempt to locate a male wanted in connection with a disturbance in Lacey. When they arrived, they found the man they were looking for had just been shot, according to a press release by Acting Lieutenant Cameron Simper of the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies rendered aid until the injured man could be transported to St. Peter’s Hospital by medics, where he was eventually transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Two men were arrested on November 12th for 1st Degree Assault in connection with this incident, and they have since been released from jail, according to County Jail records. As a result of the investigation, deputies developed probable cause to arrest a third subject on the charge of attempted murder.

Thomas M. Brown, 19, of Tumwater, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 25th for Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, jail records show. He was booked into the Thurston County Jail.
